Packaging guide

PET, tin or bulk? Find the right format.

How to match your oil packaging to the buyer, the route and the intended use.

Start with the destination of the pack

For a retail shelf, consider the nominal volume, bottle shape, closure, label and barcode. A professional kitchen may prioritise handling and larger formats. A production facility may need a transport format matched to its unloading equipment.

PET bottles and jars

The packing profile lists several consumer bottle and jar sizes for sunflower and corn oils. Sizes alone do not define an export pack: confirm units per carton, carton dimensions, gross weight, pallet configuration and label requirements for the selected SKU.

Metal tins

Metal packaging must match the exact product and agreed packing configuration. Confirm the nominal volume, closure, handle, artwork and case configuration. Do not infer that a tin size published for one oil is available for every other oil.

Bulk transport

Bulk transport such as drums, IBC containers, flexitanks and ISO tanks requires a separate quotation. Selecting one needs confirmation of the oil grade, food-contact suitability, loading and discharge arrangements, temperature requirements and route.

A loading plan is a separate document

A pack size is not a container loading figure. The final load depends on carton dimensions, weights, palletisation, equipment and route constraints. Ask for a confirmed packing list and loading plan rather than multiplying an assumed number of cartons.

What to include in a packaging enquiry

See the packaging overview for the agreed sizes and the information that still needs quotation-specific confirmation.
